
Then His Late Majesty King Mahendra, who was himself a poet, too,
founded the Nepal Sahitya Kala Academy on June 22, 1957. This was
later renamed Nepal Rajkiya Pragyã Pratisthan and now it
is named as Nepal Pragyã Pratisthan. Since its inception,
this prestigious national academic institution has actively committed
itself to the enhancement of Nepali literature, art and culture.
